Privacy Policy

Katkut AI ("Katkut", "we", "us") is a mobile app that helps you turn short video clips and photos into a ready-to-post reel. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: your video clips and photos are processed entirely on your phone and are never uploaded to our servers. The only personal information we collect is what you share by signing in with Google, used solely to identify your account.

1. Information we collect

Account information (only if you sign in). Signing in with Google or Apple is optional. If you choose to sign in, we receive your name and email address (and profile photo, for Google) from your account via our authentication provider (Supabase), so we can identify your account and your subscription status. If you sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one.

Your media: processed on-device only. When you pick videos or photos to build a reel, Katkut reads them locally on your device to analyze, trim, and assemble your reel. These files are never uploaded to any server. All analysis, editing, and export happen entirely on your phone.

Exported reel. The finished reel is saved to your device's gallery so you can share it yourself (e.g. to TikTok, Instagram, or CapCut). We do not receive a copy of it.

2. Permissions we request, and why

Photos/Videos access: to let you pick clips and build your reel. Clips stay on your device and are never uploaded.
Save to gallery: to save your finished reel back to your device.

3. How we use information

To operate your account and verify your subscription status (free vs. Pro).
To show ads to free-tier users, and to remove ads and the watermark for Pro subscribers.
To provide customer support if you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Payments and subscriptions

Katkut Pro removes the watermark from your exports. How your payment is processed depends on your platform:

Android and Web: subscriptions are purchased through Stripe, our payment processor. Katkut never receives or stores your card details — Stripe handles that directly.
iOS: subscriptions are purchased through Apple's In-App Purchase system, billed to your Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status; it receives your purchase receipt and a device-generated identifier, not your payment details. See also Apple's privacy policy.

In both cases, we only receive whether your subscription is active — never your payment method or billing details.

5. Advertising

Katkut is free to use, supported by ads shown only on the analyzing and exporting screens (a brief ad before each of those steps starts, plus a small banner while your reel is actually processing). We never show ads inside the editor, settings, or anywhere else in the app. Subscribing to Pro removes ads entirely, along with the export watermark.

Ads are delivered by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partner ad networks may collect information such as your device's advertising identifier, approximate location, and app usage data to deliver and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted:

On iOS, personalized ads require your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Declining doesn't limit any app feature — you'll simply see non-personalized ads instead.
In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, and for users in regulated US states, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads, through a standard consent form shown the first time it's required.

6. Third-party services

We use Supabase to handle account sign-in and store basic account information. We use Stripe and/or RevenueCat to process subscription payments — see "Payments and subscriptions" above. We use Google AdMob to serve ads — see "Advertising" above. We do not currently use any separate analytics SDKs.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your reels, drafts, and picked media stay on your device and are removed when you delete the app or the project itself. If you signed in, you can request deletion of your account information at any time by contacting us (below).

8. Children's privacy

Katkut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
